About Us

Barishal Blood Donors Club, commonly known by its short form BBDC, began its journey in 2012 with a simple but powerful mission: to save lives through voluntary blood donation and to support those who depend on it the most. From the very beginning, BBDC earned trust and recognition within the community.

In its early years, BBDC focused primarily on blood donation–related activities. These included organizing free blood donation programs, maintaining donor networks, and empowering thalassemia patients through medical, social, and emotional support. This foundation of humanitarian service shaped the organization’s values—volunteerism, compassion, and community responsibility.

As community needs evolved, so did BBDC. Over time, the scope of our work expanded beyond blood services into broader areas of social development. Today, BBDC is actively involved in initiatives related to education, climate awareness, disaster management, food assistance, livelihood and self-reliance programs, and social awareness campaigns. Each initiative is designed to create sustainable impact and empower individuals and communities to overcome challenges with dignity.

In 2025, the organization entered a new phase of growth through a strategic rebranding. BBDC was reintroduced with a new identity—Beyond Boundaries for Development and Change —along with a modern logo that reflects our expanded vision. While the full name highlights our commitment to crossing limitations and driving positive transformation, the short name BBDC remains unchanged and continues to be the primary identity under which all activities are carried out.

Today, BBDC stands as a dynamic, volunteer-driven organization committed to inclusive development and meaningful change. Rooted in Barishal and working with communities across Bangladesh, we believe that lasting progress is possible when people come together beyond boundaries—of geography, circumstance, and opportunity.
